|Here are some photos of avalanches that have occured in White Pine
County. Just because not many see them doesn't mean they don't occur.
These pictures are just a reminder that indeed they do.
|This is a naturally triggered slide that occured in the north fork of Timber Creek just
to the west of North Schell Peak (February 2004). The starting zone is not visible
in this picture, it was up to the left of the view in this picture on a south by
southeast facing aspect.. (photo by Lee Turner)
|The arrows point to deposition zones of multiple natural slides that occured above
the south fork of Timber Creek during the winter of 2003/2004. These slides
occured on north west facing aspects on the west side of the Schell Creeks.
